Location
Our site is located on the shore of beautiful Lake Atitlán, a crater lake in the Guatemalan highlands encircled by volcanoes and mountains, and populated with indigenous Mayan settlements. We are located five minutes by boat from Santiago, the principal town on the lake. There are stunning volcano and cloud forest hikes, and colorful traditional markets where one can find an assortment of locally grown produce, traditional Guatemalan textiles and jewelry. There are numerous NGO's located around the lake working in a variety of fields, and an assortment of international restaurants, cafes, and bars. Lastly, there are very affordable Spanish schools where one can receive private lessons for as little as $5 per hour.
